OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus Turbo 6 series in China, focusing on performance and significant improvements in battery capacity. The series will consist of the OnePlus Turbo 6 and the OnePlus Turbo 6V, both equipped with a record 9,000mAh battery, which is the largest ever installed in a OnePlus smartphone.
This upgrade surpasses the previous record held by the OnePlus Ace 6T, which had an 8,300mAh battery, highlighting the brand’s commitment to enhancing battery endurance as a key feature of this lineup.
Recent battery testing conducted by New Review Technology demonstrated that the OnePlus Turbo 6 can provide 10 hours and 37 minutes of use on a single charge, placing it at the forefront of OnePlus’s internal long-range battery rankings. The device is designed to withstand ultra-high intensity usage for nearly nine hours and is expected to last 1-2 days on a single charge under moderate use, allowing for approximately 10 hours of cumulative active screen time. These performance metrics position the Turbo 6 as a standout device that prioritises long-lasting battery life within its category.
Turbo 6: expected specifications
The Turbo 6 will most likely be equipped with a 1.5K resolution display boasting a 165Hz refresh rate, ideal for gaming and high-frame-rate content. The device is certified with IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, ensuring comprehensive protection against dust and water.
Powering the Turbo 6 is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, while graphics processing is managed by the Adreno 825 GPU. The phone runs on Android 16 with the OxygenOS 16 interface, offering the latest software features to users.
OnePlus Turbo 6V: a slightly different approach
The OnePlus Turbo 6V is expected to retain the same 9,000mAh battery while adopting a slightly different hardware balance. It is teased to feature a 6.8-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. While positioned slightly below the Turbo 6 in raw performance, the Turbo 6V appears set to deliver similar endurance and display quality.
