Motorola unveils ‘ultra-thin’ Edge 70 in India: Price, specs, and more | Technology News

Motorola, on Monday, December 15, expanded its Edge portfolio in India with the launch of its Edge 70 smartphone. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, making the Edge 70 the world’s first ultra-thin phone on this platform. The device is paired with Moto AI 2.0 and Copilot, Google Gemini, and Perplexity for a smarter, more fluid experience.

The Motorola Edge 70 will be available in an 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configuration at Rs. 29,999. With three years of OS upgrades and four years of security updates guaranteed, the phone comes with Hello UI based on Android 16.

It has a 6.7-inch Super HD 1.5K Extreme AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 4500 nits, compatibility for HDR10+, and colour and skin tone accuracy verified by Pantone. With sophisticated AI imaging capabilities and Google Photos editing tools, the triple-camera system consists of a 50MP OIS primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide and macro camera, and a 50MP front camera.

It features a sophisticated vapour cooling chamber, broad 5G band compatibility, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, and improved security via ThinkShield. It also offers strong performance.

The new Edge is Motorola’s thinnest smartphone to date, weighing only 159 g and measuring only 5.99 mm. It is made of aircraft-grade aluminium and feels incredibly light in the hand. Despite its small size, it has three adaptable 50MP AI cameras that can record 4K 60fps video on all lenses, a 5000mAh silicon-carbon battery that can last up to 40 hours, and military-grade durability with IP68 and IP69 protection. It comes with 68W TurboPower rapid charging, 15W wireless charging, and reverse charging powers the gadget.

As part of the launch offers, customers can avail an additional bank discount of Rs 1,000, bringing the effective launch price down to Rs 28,999. Sales begin on 23 December 2025 via Flipkart, Motorola’s official website, and leading retail stores across the country. The phone will be offered in three Pantone-curated colours: Bronze Green, Lily Pad and Gadget Grey, each featuring a premium, fabric-inspired textured finish.
