The foldable smartphone market is expected to witness a major transformation in 2026, with leading smartphone companies bringing to the forefront their most creative and imaginative designs. The five foldables that are expected to stir up the segment this year are:

Samsung TriFold

The long-awaited TriFold smartphone by Samsung is likely to be launched in 2026. It is rumoured that the gadget would have three connected screens. Besides, it will also be equipped with a powerful mobile processor, an excellent camera, and multitasking software. According to early reports, the company is working on the ultra-thin hinge technology and has made significant improvements with regard to the durability of foldable phones. Although Samsung has yet to announce the specific details, analysts believe that the TriFold might be unveiled at an important event in early 2026 and launched during the spring. The company is confident that this new format will appeal to both phone and tablet users.

Huawei X7

The Huawei Mate X7 5G Foldable Screen Phone, better known as Huawei X7 Fold, is a next-generation foldable smartphone that has evolved from the Mate X7 series. It is expected to have an 8-inch flexible LTPO OLED display with up to 120 Hz refresh rate inside and a 6.49-inch outer OLED screen. Driven by the flagship Kirin 9030 Pro chipset with as much as 20 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, it runs HarmonyOS 6 and offers a high-end triple camera and powerful battery with fast charging support. The foldable debuted in China in late 2025 and might reach more markets by mid-2026.

Motorola Razr Fold

Motorola Razr Fold is the first book-like foldable phone by Motorola. Launched at CES 2026, it hosts a 6.6-inch cover screen and a huge 8.1-inch 2K LTPO display in the inner foldable screen, allowing users to multitask by using a stylus, which is known as the Moto Pen Ultra. Its cameras are designed in a 50 MP system, coupled with high-resolution front cameras. This phone might enter the global market in the summer of 2026.

Vivo X Fold 6

The Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to be the next flagship offering from Vivo in the foldable segment. According to initial reports, it may come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, along with a camera setup of 200MP, which is an improvement over the 50MP camera offered in its predecessor. Other expected attributes include a fingerprint sensor located at the side and an improved design. The price is likely to be announced closer to the launch date in Quarter 2 of 2026.

iPhone Fold

Apple’s first foldable iPhone, commonly referred to as the iPhone Fold, is expected to hit the shelves towards the latter part of 2026. Some of its speculated specs include a foldable design resembling a book, with a display that measures around 7.8 inches while having an external screen of around 5.5 inches. The display might employ a crease-resistant or completely creaseless OLED display. The iPhone Fold might have a titanium body, with Touch ID placed on the sides in place of FaceID, paired with top-notch cameras. Production for the iPhone might commence towards the latter part of 2026.
