Dyson introduces HushJet Purifier Compact in India: a quieter, smarter approach to clean air | Technology News

Dyson has unveiled its latest innovation for cleaner indoor air, the Dyson HushJet Purifier Compact, in India. The new purifier focuses on whole-room purification while maintaining exceptionally quiet performance. The company says the product is engineered to deliver fast, high-pressure airflow and long-lasting filtration with its 360-degree electrostatic particulate filter lasting up to five years.

With air pollution continuing to spike across the country, especially during the winter smog season, compact homes and bedrooms often become hotspots for pollutants. Dyson aims to address this with a purifier built to combine efficiency, smart technology, and silent operation, making it suitable for families who spend much of their time indoors during high-pollution months.

The launch introduces a noticeable shift in Dyson’s design language. The HushJet Purifier Compact moves away from the brand’s traditional loop-based Air Multiplier architecture and instead features a sculpted HushJet entertainment nozzle. Inspired by the airflow concentrators used in hair care tools, the nozzle amplifies air projection by rapidly pulling in surrounding air, creating more powerful circulation throughout the room.

“We have developed a way to smooth high-speed airflow and reduce turbulence,” James Dyson, the founder and chairman of the company, said in a press release. “That allows the machine to produce high volumes of clean air while keeping noise extremely low. Operating at just 24 decibels in sleep mode, it’s remarkably quiet and still capable of capturing 99.97 per cent of particles as small as 0.3 microns.”

The purifier’s features are also geared towards better sleep and overall well-being. Indoor pollutants such as PM2.5, dust mites, mould spores, and nitrogen dioxide from cooking tend to accumulate more during colder months, when spaces remain shut. Dyson says quieter purification can improve sleep conditions by reducing common irritants that cause congestion or allergies overnight.

The device features:

  • a star-shaped nozzle that reduces turbulence and sound, enabling quiet purification even at night
  • air purification that helps limit allergens like pet fur, dust, and pollen for more restful sleep
  • smart monitoring: sensors automatically adjust performance based on pollution levels
  • pet-friendly filtration to reduce odours and airborne particles from animals

Despite its compact form, the purifier offers wide coverage up to 1,076 sq ft and provides a clean air delivery rate (CADR) of 250 m³/h. It features a fully sealed filtration system to ensure that trapped pollutants do not escape back into the room.

Designed for connected homes, the HushJet Purifier Compact supports real-time monitoring through the MyDyson app, where users can check air quality trends, schedule operation, and track filter health. It also works with major voice assistants, including Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, for hands-free control.

Dyson is offering the purifier in a black/teal finish at a price of Rs 29,900. It will be available both online through Dyson.in and in Dyson stores across India.
