Amazon India has just introduced two new smart home devices: the Echo Show 11 and the fourth-generation Echo Show 8, both featuring a fresh design and smarter home features directly powered by Alexa. The new devices are designed for users who want a larger screen, improved sound quality, and greater control over their connected home.
Both smart displays feature edge-to-edge glass screens and slim bezels, giving them a modern look and more screen space than earlier Echo Show models sold in India. The Echo Show 11 features an 11-inch display, while the Echo Show 8 has an 8.7-inch screen. Amazon says the new design improves viewing comfort for everyday use, whether users are watching videos, checking recipes, or making video calls.
At the heart of the Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8 is Amazon’s custom AZ3 Pro chip, which delivers quicker responses and smoother performance. The devices also run on a new Omnisense sensor platform that uses a mix of sensors, including a 13-megapixel camera, audio input, ultrasound, motion and temperature detection, and Wi-Fi signals.
Together, these sensors enable Alexa to respond automatically to what is happening around the device, such as turning on lights when someone enters a room or starting routines when a room reaches a certain temperature.
Using either the touch screen or simple voice commands, customers can control compatible smart home devices, manage daily tasks like calendars and shopping lists, play music, and ask for recipes or reminders. Smart home routines can be easily set up through the Alexa app, making home automation simpler even for first-time users.
Another area where the latest Echo Show models cater to entertainment needs is streaming music, podcasts, or audiobooks right from popular platforms. Moreover, with the bigger screen, watching TV shows, movies, workout classes, or cooking lessons is made simpler. Videos can be played via Alexa voice commands, so users do not have to engage with the screen all the time.
Sound quality has also been improved. Both devices feature a new audio setup with front-facing stereo speakers and a custom woofer. This allows them to deliver deeper bass, clearer vocals, and room-filling sound that works well for music, videos, and calls.

For video calling and home monitoring, the Echo Show 11 and Echo Show 8 include a 13-megapixel camera with auto-framing and noise reduction. Users can make clearer video calls to friends and family, check in on loved ones using the Drop In feature, or view live feeds from compatible security cameras and video doorbells on a single screen.
Privacy remains a key focus. Devices come equipped with physical buttons to turn off the microphone and camera, as well as options to delete voice recordings in the Alexa app.
Echo Show 11 is priced at Rs 26,999, and the Echo Show 8 is priced at Rs. 23,999. Both are available in Graphite and Glacier White colour options and can be purchased online as well as from select offline retail stores.
Amazon has also confirmed that these new Echo Show devices are built to support Alexa+, its upcoming generative AI-powered assistant, once it becomes available in India.
