Revealing that Saraayah means “God’s Princess,” Sidharth explained that it’s a Hebrew word. Sharing that witnessing Kiara’s journey through pregnancy and childbirth was an eye-opening experience for him, he added, “Men always talk about courage, grit and strength. But women demonstrate all those when they become mothers. I saw her go through hormonal and physical changes during pregnancy, and then become the superhero that she is today. I am contributing in the little ways I can by changing diapers, clicking photos, and keeping a happy environment.”

When asked if he had an idea of what kind of father he wanted to be, Sidharth admitted that he didn’t. “I am improvising in the role as much as I can right now. We (today’s parents) have a better work-life balance, or at least the intent to do that. My father was not involved intricately while I was growing up; but we want to be a part of this process. So, there’s that shift. Also, tomorrow my daughter could pick any profession she wants in India. That gives me a sense of pride and comfort, as there are no ‘nos’, or dos and don’ts anymore. At least the lines are very blurred,” he added.

In response to the question of whether he sees himself becoming an overprotective parent, Sidharth shared, “I think it will depend on the journey that I have with my daughter, or the culture and sense that I inculcate from now onwards till her teenage years or so. When I know that she can gauge what’s right and wrong, I think that’s my victory or my contribution to her life. If I have utmost confidence in her decision-making, then I am at peace. You can’t be overprotective. You have to let then learn from their own mistakes.”
