Shatrughan Sinha, who entered the film industry about seven years after Dharmendra, shared the screen with the veteran star on several occasions. Their first collaboration was in the 1969 film Pyar Hi Pyar, where Sinha appeared as an uncredited villain. This was followed by a cameo in the 1971 classic Guddi, and later a full-fledged role in Dharmendra’s 1978 film Dillagi, in which Sinha played the role of an advocate. Over the years, their professional association blossomed into a warm friendship.
Following Dharmendra’s demise, Sinha took to X to express his grief and his regret for being unable to attend the funeral or the prayer meet as he was away from Mumbai.

In 1986, after winning 4🥇 & 1 🥈at the Asian Games, Dharmendra ji sent me Rs. 50,000/- cash prize for my achievement. We couldn’t meet personally due to our busy schedules but sometimes love & affection are enough to keep the hearts connected even 1000 miles apart. RIP 🙏🏽 pic.twitter.com/2qXBO4fv7X
