Just as big as the headlines that blooming romances in Bollywood make, so do the breakups and even the reconciliations, even when they happen years later. In a way, one could say that privacy is a myth in Tinseltown. Even if two people never publicly confirm their relationship, reports detailing all aspects of their love story are almost always available online, making it nearly impossible for anyone to have a personal life, per se. Even Character and Ananian Prayer's situation was the same. Although gossip columns wrote extensively about the breakup of their rumoured courtship, neither of them, however, confirmed or denied anything, until now.
Now, Kartik himself has opened up about their relationship, mentioning that he harbours nothing but love for Ananya. When asked about their breakup and how they decided to work together again, he said, “She and I understand each other a lot. It’s been a journey. We’ve had our moments in life, and we’ve seen the ups and downs. And somewhere down the line, I’ve realised that both of us, as individuals, have really evolved and grown into that space,” he said during a conversation with Movie danger. The two are currently gearing up for the release of their romantic drama, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Merimarking their first on-screen collaboration after Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019).

Mentioning that she has always held a special place in his heart, he added, “Mine and Ananya’s relationship has never been about hatred or love-hate. It’s always been love, love, love, irrespective of the situation in life. I’ve always had a soft corner for her, and I would like to believe she has that for me, too. So yes, we’ve evolved. There was a certain kiddish nature that both of us had earlier. You mature with time. That childishness is still there inside, but it’s a bit more curbed now. And that’s okay.”
Kartik Aaryan is still friends with his exes
Revealing why he has often chosen not to disclose his relationships publicly, Kartik said, “When you’re in the media spotlight, you have to respect a relationship, always. And I’ve always done that. I never talk about my relationships. There will always be countless stories about every actor and their personal life. When you’re in the industry, everything tends to get blown out of proportion. Even if you talk about my relationships, like my college romances, people are quick to label or count them. And sometimes things are just not true. Not everything you hear is correct, and you have to understand that.”

Describing himself as “a very good lover,” Kartik also asserted that he’s still friends with his exes. Mentioning that the longest relationship in his life lasted four years, the actor said that the shortest, on the other hand, ended in just six months. He added, “I have always been faithful. Always! Overlapping never happened. That’s just media speculation. Overlapping isn’t something that was ever possible.” When asked what kind of wedding he would like to have eventually, the actor said, “I’d like something like my sister Kittu’s wedding — a small, intimate celebration where everyone is genuinely happy.”
