The film, which marks Sonakshi Sinha’s debut in Telugu cinema, opened on Friday to poor reviews. An excerpt from SCREEN’s review of the movie read, “Somewhere in this choppy, chaotic enterprise is a film which wants to warn us about the evils of greed, and the importance of tradition. But it is basically yet another Sudheer Babu star vehicle. Sonakshi Sinha participates in song-and-dances, and snarls at humans who refuse to do her bidding. And that’s about it.”

Jatadhara is directed by Abhishek Jaiswal and Venkat Kalyan and produced by Ess Kay Gee Entertainment in association with Zee Studio. The movie also stars Shilpa Shirodkar, Indira Krishnan, Ravi Prakash, Rajeev Kanakala, and Subhalekha Sudhakar in key roles.
