Janhvi Kapoor wears mom Sridevi’s saree at Homebound premiere; Karan Johar teases Farah Khan, ‘No one is more popular than Dilip’. Watch | Bollywood News

The premiere of Neeraj Ghaywan’s highly acclaimed film Homebound was held in Mumbai on Monday night. The film stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles. The star-studded event saw several Bollywood celebrities in attendance, including Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Farah Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Vicky Kaushal, and others.

Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora, who dated for many years before calling it quits in 2024, were seen posing for the paparazzi separately. Interestingly, the ex-couple entered the venue almost at the same time and were spotted interacting with the same group of people.

The evening also featured a light-hearted exchange between Farah Khan and Karan Johar. Referring to Farah’s now-famous cook, Dilip, who often appears in her vlogs, Karan teased her saying, “I want to say no one is more popular than Dilip. Dilip zyada aage nahi chala gaeya?” To this, Farah jokingly asked, “What about me?” Karan quickly quipped back, “No, no.”

In another viral moment from the premiere, Vicky Kaushal was seen warmly hugging Ishaan Khatter and congratulating him on the film. Hrithik Roshan also made heads turn, arriving in an all-black look. Farhan Akhtar attended the event with his wife, Shibani Dandekar, while Rhea Chakraborty was also spotted accompanying the couple.

Janhvi Kapoor looked stunning in a blue and black saree that once belonged to her mother, the late veteran actor Sridevi. She was also seen posing with boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya’s family at the event.

Just days before the premiere, Homebound was announced as India’s official entry for the 2026 Academy Awards in the Best International Feature category. The film is co-produced by Karan Johar, with Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese serving as its executive producer. It had its world premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

Homebound tells the story of two friends — Chandan (Jethwa), a Dalit, and Shoaib (Khatter), a Muslim — who are determined to beat the odds and build a better life for themselves.
