Huma Qureshi recalls throwing shade at Anurag Kashyap before getting offered Gangs Of Wasseypur: 'Mera second ad hai, aapka pehla hai?' , bollywood news


Huma S Qureshi made a smashing Bollywood debut with Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur. At the 10th edition of Expresso, Huma went down memory lane, recalling her first encounter with Kashyap and how she landed her debut film. She also revealed her salary for Gangs of Wasseypur.

At Expresso, Huma recalled how the opportunity to become part of the iconic project came her way. It began when a casting director recommended her for an ad shoot, where she first met Kashyap.

“Gangs of Wasseypur changed my life. I was this young, Delhi girl. I went for the ad shoot and I was wearing a lot of makeup, the amount one should wear for advertisements. Anurag Kashyap pointed out at my face and asked me, ‘What is this?’ I was in my own attitude and I told him, ‘Mera dasva ad hai, aapka pehla hai (It’s my tenth ad, might be your first).’ I think that’s when he decided I am a fit for the film,” she laughed and shared.

Huma S Qureshi also revealed her fees for the role in Gangs of Wasseypur. “I got paid Rs 65,000 for Gangs Of Wasseypur. I would love to have that experience all over again, no matter how much the money.”

Gangs Of Wasseypur also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chadha, Zeishan Qadri, Pankaj Tripathi, Piyush Mishra, and Jaideep Ahlawat.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Huma S Qureshi in the third season of Netflix’s Delhi Crime. Her political show Maharani Season 4 is also streaming on SonyLIV.
