At a time when “nepo kids” are often bashed by a large section of the audience for their poor movie choices and even poorer work, Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, made what can arguably be seen as one of the most impactful debuts by a star kid. His satirical action drama series, The Ba***ds of Bollywoodnot only became a massive success but also earned positive responses. While his decision not to follow in his superstar father’s footsteps had already earned Aryan praise, public opinion of him improved further when he impressed the masses with his debut work itself.
Now, a new video has surfaced online showing Gauri Khan’s mother, Savita Chhibber, expressing her happiness over her grandson’s strides and growth in his dream field. “I’m very happy. May he be very successful. My blessings to him. I love you the most. I’m so proud. At this age, I’m just hearing that my grandson and his achievement have been honoured by the whole country,” she said while taking part in the NDTV Indian of the Year event held in New Delhi, where Aryan won the Best Debutant Director award.

Elated and smiling cheerfully, Aryan replied, “I love you, with whomand I promise you that my next award will be dedicated to you. I promise,” which made Savita laugh. He also immediately got off the stage and went up to her to give her a lovely kiss, as the crowd reacted with an “aww” to their adorable bond.
The eldest of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s three children, Aryan, 28, is a graduate of the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California (USC). Although he previously worked as a voice actor in Hindi versions of a few movies, such as The Lion King (2019) and Mufasa: The Lion King (2024), The Ba***ds of Bollywood marked his proper debut.
Starring Bobby Deol, Lakshya Lalwani, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, and Anya Singh in key roles, the show was produced by Aryan’s mother, Gauri, under the banner of their Red Chillies Entertainment. The series is now streaming on Netflix. In her review of the showSCREEN’s Shubhra Gupta wrote, “Aryan Khan’s debut as a director is a mixed bag — while it entertains in parts, it deflates into seen-before ordinariness when it segues into showing us ‘the other side’ of the film industry.”
