The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominations for the 2025 International Emmy Awards on Thursday. From India, Diljit Dosanjh and his web series Amar Singh Chamkila earned nominations in the Best Performance by an Actor and TV Movie/Mini-Series categories, respectively.
Reacting to the nomination, Diljit Dosanjh wrote on his Instagram Stories, “It’s all because of Imtiaz Ali sir @netflix_in” Imtiaz Ali, meanwhile, wrote on Instagram, “Making us proud @dilijitdosanjh!!! So well deserved.”
The series Amar Singh Chamkila explores the life and career of the slain Punjabi folk legend, Amar Singh Chamkila, often hailed as the ‘Elvis of Punjab’. It released on Netflix in April last year to rave reviews.
