Aryan Khan has become the talk of the town, and rightfully so. After giving Netflix India a major hit with The Ba***ds of Bollywood, Aryan has emerged as one of the most promising new voices in the industry. The show, both irreverent and entertaining, has led many netizens to compare him with filmmaker Farah Khan, known for balancing these distinct tonalities effortlessly. Naturally, audiences are now eager to see what Aryan does next.
According to a recent report by Pinkvilla, Aryan is all set to direct his superstar father, Shah Rukh Khan, in a full-fledged feature film that may go on floors sometime in 2027. The report stated that Aryan’s third film will have SRK in the lead role. However, before that project begins, the 27-year-old filmmaker is focusing on another full-length entertainer, which will serve as his theatrical debut. He is expected to take on the film with his father only after completing this upcoming venture.
A source close to the development revealed, “Aryan wants to deliver a theatrical success and prove himself as a filmmaker before taking on the challenge of directing his superstar father, Shah Rukh Khan.” Describing Aryan’s plan of action, the source added, “His idea is to earn that opportunity through merit and let his work speak for itself. If all goes as planned, Aryan’s third directorial will feature SRK in the lead. The father-son duo has already locked the core idea, but the collaboration is expected to take shape only in 2027. For now, Aryan is focused on completing the script of his second feature, which will soon enter the casting stage.”
Earlier, during a social media session, a fan had asked Shah Rukh Khan, “Can we see your son directing you in a full-fledged movie?” To this, the superstar responded with his trademark wit, “If he can afford me!!! And my tantrums.”

While Aryan Khan’s debut show The Ba***ds of Bollywood has been widely appreciated, not everyone has been completely on board with its portrayal of the film industry. Actor and producer Vivek Vaswani, once a close friend of Shah Rukh Khan, shared his honest disappointment during a conversation with Radio Nasha Official. He said, “What I felt was that when Shah Rukh came into the industry, the amount of love and respect that Aziz Mirza and Nirmala gave him, and that me and my mother gave him, and Saeed Mirza gave him… all of them gave him so much love, so much affection. So when did he come to the conclusion that Bollywood is a gutter and everyone in it is bad people? He is the one person who was treated with kid gloves as a rank outsider.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film’s first look was revealed just a few days ago on the superstar’s 60th birthday.
