Actor Akshay Kumar recently graced the finale episode of Kapil Sharma’s the Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. While having a fun banter, the duo roasted each other for their busy schedules. During the conversation, Akshay teased Kapil about the recent firing incident outside his cafe in Canada. He also elaborated on the comedian’s substantial career growth throughout these years.
Akshay said, “I didn’t realise when three seasons flew by. First of all, he works at a rapid pace – in only a year and a half, he wrapped up three seasons, and he even had two kids in the same span of time.” “That was the gap between the two kids,” Kapil added. “He had two children in that time period, he ought to be in the Guinness Book,” Sidhu joined the joke.
The actor revealed that Kapil Sharma used to do many shows earlier and asked if the minimum number of shows has affected Archana Puran Singh’s fees. “Earlier, he used to do 80 shows. It may not be an issue for him, but Archana ji, earlier with 80 shows, your paycheck was pretty solid. Don’t you think it has dipped a little?” he asked. “When it comes to remuneration, Netflix has been very generous. That’s good to know,” Archana replied. “But, her expenses are barely anything. Chaar logon ka toh parivaar hai, baaki 7-8 toh maid hain inki (there are only four members in the family, rest 7-8 are their maids in the house),” the comedian added. The Great Indian Kapil Show’s current season had 10 episodes.

Kapil then cracked several punches about Akshay’s busy and packed schedules, and how he has done over 150 films, quipping, “Aap talented zyaada ho ke aapki zaruratein zyaada hain (Are you talented, or are your needs just too many)?” “Why don’t you tell about yourself too? Three seasons of this show on Netflix. Before that, he was on Sony. Before that, he was on Colors. Now, he is doing two films. Simultaneously, he also launched his restaurant. Moreover, he is earning so much money that gunshots were fired at that restaurant. Are you talented or just full of needs?” Akshay gave a witty reply explaining his career growth, while taking a dig at the firing incident at his cafe. Everyone burst into laughter after his dig at Kapil.
Kapil Sharma’s cafe was opened in Canada on July 4 and has already had two attacks outside. The latest gunshot episode occurred in the early hours of August 7, in the Newton neighbourhood. “At approximately 4:40 am on August 7, 2025, SPS Frontline officers responded to a report of shots fired outside a business in the 8400 block of 120 Street,” Surrey Police said in a statement.
