Akshay Kumar misses Katrina Kaif as he recreates ‘Uncha Lamba Kad’ with Disha Patani for Welcome to the Jungle: ‘Never forgetting our queen’ | Bollywood News


Actors Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif shared the screen in several hit films during the 2000s. The duo also treated fans to memorable songs, including “Uncha Lamba Kad” from Anees Bazmee’s Welcome (2007). On Tuesday, it was revealed that Akshay’s upcoming film Welcome to the Jungle will feature a recreated version of the track. The actor dropped a teaser of the new rendition, giving a shout-out to his former co-star Katrina Kaif, who is expecting her first child with Vicky Kaushal.

In the clip, Akshay is seen grooving with his Welcome to the Jungle co-star Disha Patani on the peppy beats of the song “Uncha Lamba Kad”. At the end of the video, Akshay says, “We miss you, Katrina!” Along with the video, he wrote, “From our hearts to yours!! What a throwback, 18 years & still an all time favourite. With so much nostalgia, beautiful @DishPatani & I bring you ‘Welcome to the Jungle’… Never forgetting our Queen Katrina.”

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have worked together in several Bollywood films, including Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006), Namastey London (2007), Welcome (2007), Singh Is Kinng (2008), Blue (2009), De Dana Dan (2009), Tees Maar Khan (2010), and Sooryavanshi (2021). Recently, Akshay appeared as a guest on Aap Ki Adalat, where a fan asked him about his favourite actress. Without missing a beat, he replied, “Meri favourite heroine… actually maine sabhi ke saath kaam kiya hua hain (I have worked with everyone in the industry). (pauses) Katrina (Kaif)!”

Helmed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome to the Jungle stars an ensemble cast of 34 actors, including, Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Disha Pataniand many others. The film is expected to hit theatres on December 25, this year.
