Masked men break into Madhya Pradesh Congress chief’s house, ransack property after cutting electricity | India News

More than half a dozen masked men entered the home of Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, breaking drawers and lockers in the office section of the home.

According to police, the gang cut electricity, ransacked the property, and prowled through the Bijalpur neighbourhood in Indore’s Rajendra Nagar for nearly two and a half hours.

The gang entered Bijalpur around 2 am and were last seen around 4.30 am, officers said. Grainy footage shows masked figures moving stealthily through the area, and the police have begun looking into the case suspecting that it may be the work of a gang of burglars, active in the area.

The Madhya Pradesh Congress took to social media and confirmed the incident.

“On Friday late night, miscreants attempted a robbery at the Indore residence of Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari. The group of miscreants, numbering more than five and wearing masks, came with the intent of committing a major crime and even ransacked Patwari Ji’s entire office,” the party said.

The Congress alleged that despite the fact that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is also the minister in charge of Indore district, the law-and-order situation continues to spiral into chaos.

“Earlier as well, there have been five alarming incidents of attacks and accidents at different places targeting the PCC chief. The Congress has been continuously demanding proper security for Jitu Patwari, but the BJP government in the state remains careless and unconcerned,” the party said.
