BJP leaders who voted in Delhi also voted in Bihar, says Rahul | India News

Doubling down on his allegations of “vote chori”, Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Friday alleged that BJP leaders who had voted in Delhi earlier this year also voted in the first phase of the Bihar polls on Thursday.

At a rally in Banka on Friday, Gandhi said the Congress has produced evidence of “vote theft” in the Haryana polls, and the Election Commission cannot deny the charges.

“I came to know yesterday that BJP leaders who cast votes in Delhi, also voted in the first phase of the Bihar polls (on Thursday),” Gandhi said.

“The BJP indulged in ‘vote chori’ in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Haryana, and now they are trying to repeat it in Bihar. But, I am certain the people of Bihar will not allow this to happen in their state,” Gandhi said.

Earlier in the day, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj accused BJP leader Rakesh Sinha and Delhi BJP Purvanchal Morcha president Santosh Ojha of voting twice, in Delhi in February this year, and in Bihar on Thursday.

Dismissing the allegation as “politically motivated”, Sinha said he had enrolled himself as a voter in Bihar strictly in accordance with the legal procedure and guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission. “Earlier, my name was there in Delhi voter rolls, but later I got enrolled in Bihar,” he said.
