Diane Keaton, the actor best known for her role in the Godfather movies passed away on Saturday, People reported. She was 79.

Keaton was born Diane Hall in Los Angeles and went on to have a successful acting career, having collaborated with director Woody Allen on numerous occasions, to give us the very memorable Annie Hall – a role which won her the Oscar for Best Actress. Besides this, she also appeared in Manhattan, Love and Death, among other Allen films. Other films Keaton appeared in include The First Wives Club and many collaborations with Nancy Myers for the Book Club franchise.

Diane Keaton had amassed impressive wealth over the years. Her net worth, as of 2025, is estimated to be $100 million as per Celebrity Net Worth. However, her many films are not the only reason the actor was siting on the cool sum.

A large part of Diane Keaton’s wealth reportedly came from flipping real estate, the high-end kind. A Laguna Beach property the actor bought for $7.5 million in 2004 was sold in 2006 for a cool $12.75 million. Besides that, Keaton flipped a Pacific Palisades home for $6.9 million in 2016. She’d bought the Los Angeles property for $5.6 million in 2012. Then, in 2020, she put up a property in Tucson, Ariz for $2.6 million after having gotten it for $1.5 million two years back, Parade reported.

While Keaton had a stellar career in Hollywood, the wage gap for actresses impacted her. In her memoir, Then Again, she’d opened up about Jack Nicholson had split half his earnings from a back-end deal for the rom-com movie Something’s Gotta Give with co-star Keaton.

Keaton’s acting career also included impressive Broadway roles and parts in television shows. As per Celebrity Talent International, Keaton could also be booked for social events – like being a guest speaker – and the charges would run to anything between $150,000 and $299,000.
