IndiGo Flight Status Today Live News Updates: IndiGo airline, which is battling staff shortage, ticket cancellations and refunds, and government action, will submit a “full report” on the flight disruptions today. CEO Pieter Elbers has been asked to appear before the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday, December 11, at 3 pm. Senior officials from all relevant departments have also been asked to attend the meeting. The summons to IndiGo’s top leadership came a day after the government ordered the airline to cut 10 per cent of its scheduled operations.

What IndiGo has been asked to explain: IndiGo will outline the main causes of the disruption and the steps taken to address them. This includes progress on restoring flights, hiring plans for pilots and cabin crew, refunds for affected passengers, the return of stranded baggage, timely communication with travellers, and arrangements for re-routing those impacted by cancellations. Both the regulator and the Civil Aviation Ministry have been holding regular meetings with the airline as cancellations have continued since the middle of last week, severely affecting operations nationwide.

IndiGo flight ops now: IndiGo, which commands nearly 65 per cent of India’s domestic market and operates more than 2,300 daily flights, will now see its domestic schedule fall below 1,950 flights a day under the revised curtailment. IndiGo board chairman Vikram Singh Mehta has broken his silence on last week’s large-scale operational disruption, rejecting claims that the airline engineered the crisis or tried to influence the government over the revised Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) rules. He also refuted suggestions that the board was not involved in the FDTL discussions, calling them “not correct”. Mehta said the board will appoint an external technical expert to work with the management, identify the root causes, and ensure such disruptions do not recur.
