Celina Jaitly alleges her husband often called her a ‘maidservant’; forced her to transfer Mumbai home to him | Bollywood News

Actor Celina Jaitley has filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband, Peter Haag, under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005. In her complaint, the 47-year-old actor alleges that she has suffered emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse. SCREEN has now learned that she endured even more. According to the petition filed in court, Celina also faced racial abuse.

Filed through the law firm Karanjawala & Co., the petition alleges that Peter made racist remarks toward Celina, claiming he often referred to her as a “maidservant” and said she resembled his maid.

‘He pushed her out of the apartment just three weeks postpartum’

According to the petition, Celina Jaitly described an incident that she says occurred three weeks after she gave birth. The document states:
“Her stitches had not healed, she was barely able to walk… at three weeks post-partum, she asked her husband if he could consider extending his paternity leave until her stitches had healed and help her with the children. However, he once again flew into a rage and called Celina thankless. He grabbed her by the wrist and physically pushed her out of the apartment, saying, ‘Get out of my life.’ Celina was left stranded in the hallway in breastfeeding clothing… A neighbour saw the actress and rushed to her rescue.”

‘Peter pressured Celina to transfer their Mumbai home to his name’

The petition further states that Peter repeatedly pressured Celina to transfer her Mumbai residence into his name. This alleged pressure came at a time when Celina was grieving significant personal losses, including the passing of her son, Samshera, due to a heart defect in 2017, and going through severe depression following the loss of both her parents within a short span.

The petition additionally claims that the alleged emotional, physical, sexual, and verbal abuse eventually compelled Celina to flee their home in Austria in the middle of the night and return to India, leaving behind their three children. After her return, the petition states that she learned Peter had sought legal action regarding the transfer of her Mumbai property. The petition also alleges that Peter blocked her access to their children, aside from one instance of contact on November 14 this year.

While Peter Haag has initiated divorce proceedings in Austria, Celina Jaitly is seeking Rs 10 lakh per month as alimony and Rs 50 crore as compensation for the loss of her earnings. When SCREEN reached out to Celina for a comment, the actor said, “As my matter is sub judice, I am unable to make any comments at this time.”

Celina married Peter in a private ceremony at her Mumbai residence. The couple has three children, twins Viraaj and Winston, born in 2012, and their son Arthur, born in 2017.

On the work front, Celina Jaitly has appeared in films such as No Entry, Golmaal Returns, Janasheen, Apna Sapna Money Money and Thank You, among others.
