Elon Musk’s SpaceX launches 29 Starlink satellites into space using Falcon 9 rocket: WATCH | Technology News


SpaceX on Thursday (Indian Standard Time) launched another batch of 29 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit using its Falcon 9 rocket. The mission marked the fifth flight for the first-stage booster being used.

The satellites are scheduled to deploy a little over an hour after liftoff. SpaceX launched the satellites from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Central Florida.

What is SpaceX?

Founded in 2002 by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, SpaceX was established with the goal of building powerful, reusable rockets. These vehicles are designed to survive reentry, land safely, and be launched again.

The company aims to advance human space travel, with a long-term vision of enabling missions to Mars and beyond. In 2020, SpaceX became the first private enterprise to send astronauts to the International Space Station.

As of now, SpaceX has completed 565 missions, achieved 525 successful landings, and conducted 490 rocket re-flights, according to its official website.

What is Starlink?

Starlink is SpaceX’s ambitious project to deliver high-speed internet access globally, even in remote and rural regions. The service supports online streaming, gaming, video conferencing, and remote work.

Currently, more than 7 million users across 150 countries and territories are connected through Starlink.

As per Space.comSpaceX has 8,475 Starlink satellites in orbit and plans to expand that number to 42,000. Each satellite is designed to operate for about five years.
