Veteran actor Satish Shah, who passed away on October 25 at the age of 74, was laid to rest on Sunday in Mumbai. His cremation was held at Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle.

Satish Shah’s family members, close friendsand several personalities from the film and television fraternity attended his funeral to pay their final respects. Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah, Tiku Talsania, David Dhawan, Rumy Jafry, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ali Asgar, Deepak Parashar, Harish Bhimani, Avtar Gill, Achan Desai, Pankaj Kapur, Supriya Pathak, Poonam Dhillon, Swaroop Sampat, Dilip Tahil, Prahlad Kakkar, Suresh Oberoi, Prasoon Joshi, Sharad Saxena, and Tej Sapru were among those present.

The Sarabhai vs Sarabhai team, including producers JD Majethia and Aatish Kapadia, along with actors Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar, and Deven Bhojani, paid an emotional farewell to Satish Shah. The group sang the show’s title track together, but grew teary-eyed as they remembered the actor.

Sharing the clip, Deven Bhojani wrote on X, “May look mad, dark, weird whatever .. but we always sing this when we’re together & today was not an exception. Felt as if INDU himself insisted and joined us. #SatishShah ji I am blessed to have directed you in #sarabhaivssarabhai. You’ll live forever in our hearts ❤️.”

Before Satish Shah’s final journey began, his mortal remains were kept at his Bandra residence for visitors to pay their last respects. According to the medical certificate of cause of death issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai actor passed away due to kidney-related complications.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the passing of Satish Shah and said the actor will be remembered as a true legend of Indian entertainment.
