Hamas hits back at Trump for supporting ‘Zionist propaganda’ | World News

Hamas hit back at US President Donald Trump’s warning, denouncing his threats as a show of support for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Accusing Trump of “blatant bias”, the Palestinian militant group claimed that the US President’s remarks were “in favour of Zionist propaganda”, according to The Times Of Israel.

“War criminal Netanyahu bears full responsibility for the lives of his prisoners in the Gaza Strip,” the group said, adding that full takeover of the besieged Palestinian enclave puts the lives of the hostages at risk.

Hamas further alleged that Washington very well knows that Netanyahu was the one sabotaging the chances of reaching an agreement to end the war in Gaza.

“Washington knows that Netanyahu is sabotaging the chances of any agreement, most recently by attempting to assassinate the negotiating delegation in Qatar while they were discussing Trump’s final deal,” the Palestinian militant group said.

‘All bets are off’

Trump’s warning came after reports emerged that Hamas was using hostages as human shields against Israel’s ground offensive in Gaza City.

“I have just read a News Report that Hamas has moved the hostages above ground to use them as human shields against Israel’s ground offensive. I hope the Leaders of Hamas know what they’re getting into if they do such a thing,” the US president said in a post on his Truth Social handle.

Describing the alleged move a “human atrocity”, Trump called for the immediate release of all the hostages.

“This is a human atrocity, the likes of which few people have ever seen before. Don’t let this happen or, ALL “BETS” ARE OFF. RELEASE ALL HOSTAGES NOW,” he added.

Israel begins ground offensive to occupy Gaza City

Netanyahu on Tuesday said that Israel has launched a “significant” operation in Gaza. He made the remarks at the opening of his corruption trial in court, as a request to be exempted from his scheduled testimony.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz, in a post on X, said, “Gaza is burning”.

He further added, “The IDF strikes with an iron fist at the terrorist infrastructure and IDF soldiers are fighting bravely to create the conditions for the release of the hostages and the defeat of Hamas.”

Netanyahu described last month that Gaza City is one of the strongholds of Palestinian militant group Hamas that launched an unprecedented attack against Israel on 7 Oct 2023.
