Ranveer Singh, riding high on the mega success of his actioner Dhurandharis currently in New York, where he, alongside his wife and actor Deepika Padukone, met chef Vikas Khanna at his high-end, renowned restaurant, Bungalow. The meeting celebrated the film’s success and also marked a special moment as Deepika learnt how to make modak. Vikas shared a reel on Instagram featuring the interaction.
The reel, set to the title track of Dhurandhar, begins with Vikas Khanna demonstrating the modak-making process to Ranveer and Deepika. Deepika tries her hand at making the sweet, while Vikas feeds a modak to Ranveer and congratulates him with a warm hug on the film’s success. Meanwhile, Deepika offers her modak to Vikas, who smiles in approval and feeds it back to her.
Posting the reel, Vikas wrote, “This has to be the most blessed end to 2025, a new beginning in honors of India. Team Bungalow had the privilege of celebrating with Ranveer & Deepika her first modak. All our guests walking into Bungalow today will enjoy pomegranate & cardamom modaks for an auspicious beginning to 2026. Celebrating Dhurandhar, standing taller than any film in the world.”

With Dhurandhar, Ranveer has finally struck gold, as the film has become both the highest grosser of the year and his biggest hit ever. Deepika, on the other hand, has been in the news throughout the year for her exits from two mega projects: Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and the sequel to her own film Kalki 2898 AD, reportedly over an eight-hour work shift demand.
Earlier this year, speaking to Brut India, she said“I don’t think what I am asking for is ridiculously unfair and I think only someone who has worked in the system enough will know the conditions that we work in. And I am saying this, if I may say so myself, a top star, so you can only imagine what the working conditions must be like for everyone else, for the crew, for example.”
While Ranveer gears up for the release of Dhurandhar 2, hoping to replicate similar success in 2026, Deepika will be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in King and is also working on the next Atlee film with Allu Arjun.
