OnePlus devices have had a great year, at least when it comes to battery life. In 2025, every model in the company’s lineup received a noticeable increase in battery capacity. According to Android Headlinesthe upcoming device, rumoured to be called the OnePlus Turbo, will be a mid-range smartphone packing a huge 9,000mAh battery. The report adds that OnePlus is expected to launch the phone in India as the next addition to its Nord series. Expected to launch in China sometime in January of 2026, the OnePlus Turbo may pack in a 6.8-inch OLED screen with 1.5K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. Rumour also has it that the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset.

Similar to most OnePlus phones launched this year, the upcoming phone may have a squircle-shaped camera island on the top left and a plastic back with a glossy finish. Speculations suggest that the OnePlus Turbo will have a dual camera setup, but there are no other details available at the moment.

Li Jie Louis, the President of OnePlus China, said on the Chinese social media platform Weibo that the new Turbo series will offer “frighteningly strong” performance, battery, and gaming capabilities compared to other phones in the price bracket. The OnePlus Turbo, probably rebranded as the Nord series in India, is rumoured to launch in March 2026, which means the company might unveil it at the Mobile World Congress.

If true, this might mean that the OnePlus Turbo will outperform the recently launched OnePlus 15R (review), which comes with a huge 7,400mAh battery.
